EPOXIDISED OIL AS ALTERNATIVE TO EPOXY RESIN AND PLASITICIERS IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES
Abstract
Oil had been used for various application in coating, adhesive and plastics industry but they are mostly used as lubricant and chain extender which assists flow.  Epoxidised oil can replace toxic plasticizer , phthalates etc used in PVC and rubber industries.  Plasticiser is one of the use of this oil .
For Surface coating industry,  synthetic resin had been as binders in various formulation system.  Epoxy resin is rather expensive as it is based on epichlorohydrin where this based raw material is expensive and toxic.   Epoxidised oil from sustainable resources can be an alternative material.
Main feature of this coating is it is non yellowish, cured by uv and coating on various substrate such as wood, glass and plastics are possible. Coating can be added with uv absorber and antioxidant from premature aging for outdoor purposes.  Material can be used to replace the conventional epoxy and synthetic resin which needs  solvent based media which is not environmental friendly.  Product can be commercialised for wood, concrete and glass coating based industry for global market.

RECYCLED POLYMER AS SKYLIGHT ROOFING AND PANELLING MATERIAL
Abstract
Recycled polymer can be use as alternative material for energy saving purpose.
Most modern house has low day lighting and this consume higher energy usage.  Roof and panels with high to medium transparency is essential to increase day lighting. Recycled polymer can be use as alternative material for energy saving purposes; it can be use as filler in polymer resin. Advantages obtained include:  Lower density, lower thermal conductivity, translucent & low brittleness compared to conventional roof materials such as ceramic & glass.

NATURAL ADDITIVES FOR NEW GENERATION GREEN PACKAGING FILM
Polyolefin plastics example PE and PP are widely use as packaging film.  It had been scrutinized for its non biodegradability. NEW additive based on natural colorant and oxidant had been incorporated as green packaging film to replace conventional additives. Conventional additives for polyolefin may include antioxidant, colorant and other additives.  Most industries incorporated synthetic dyes to impart colour to the films. Degradable additives such as prooxidant and photosensitize had been incorporated to film to accelerate degradation through oxidation and other process but most use  synthetic metal complexes which may cause further environmental problems through leaching etc.
Our new green packaging film is not from biodegradable polymers which are rather expensive to produce but proved to have some degradable properties for PP for example, from use of our natural additives upon exposure to heat, moisture and sunlight. Project can be commercialized with relevant film blown extruder machine to produce packaging films.  It has natural additives which are non toxic if leached and safe for use as food films etc.

The usage of plastic materials has been in great demand due to wide applications including as packaging and wrapping materials. However, plastic materials mostly require a long time which may take hundred over years to start degrading or to be fully degraded.
As a consequence, lots of plastic waste will be accumulated and thus causing environmental pollutions. Since then, the public has been more conscious towards using a more environmental-friendly approach packaging materials.
Plastic materials are an extremely stable polymer which does not readily to be degradable. Hence it is important to develop a technique to accelerate the degradation process of the plastic materials.
There are some prior arts relating to several polymeric compositions which are degradable by incorporating different additives.
Existing plastic films employed oxodegradants for shopping and consumer bags. Polyolefin plastics example PE and PP are widely use as packaging film.  It had been scrutinised for its non biodegradability.  NEW Additive based on natural colorant and oxidant had been incorporated as green packaging film to replace conventional additives. Conventional additives for polyolefin may include antioxidant, colorant and other additives.
Project can be commercialized with relevant film blown extruder or casting .machine to produce packaging films.  It has natural additives which are non toxic if leached and safe for use as food films. Target markets include mostly all industries which need packaging especially for groceries and shopping bags which had been ban lately due environmental concern worldwide. Local, overseas and global market can be targeted. The company had tried to embark on new innovative products to start and serve the green agenda echoed by government and society at large.  Product can be manufactured not just as packaging films but can be processed as disposal plastic wares and molded into various items. This packaging film can bring revenue to the company as this product could be manufactured locally with available machineries widely used in plastics industries. Research and development will be continuously carried out by renowned consultants from universities for quality and further innovative products enhanced.  Raw materials can be sourced from PETRONAS and other petrochemical companies which can spearhead the development of this green packaging film.

Degradable film markets are good as all industries local and abroad use packaging in every field.
Consumers, especially shoppers from TESCO and Giant from all walks of life filled the market survey questionnaire and their need for innovative plastic films that can counter the cause of plastic banning.  Builders also showed their interest for building panels and roofing and paint sectors to reduce temperature gradient.
1.      Degradable Polymers for various industries including consumer and medical products.  Recycling can persists and degradable only upon disposal.  Other future R and D include biodegradable films and pharmaceutical etc.
2.      Energy efficient building products had been initiated through sales of Thermal barrier paint. Should catalyst commercialization aspects and generate income not just to company, especially to consultants from Universities who had given support for their innovative products.
3.      Initial revenues are expected in the second half of 2011.  The company is anticipated to become profitable during 2012.
It can reduce imports and lower price through utilization of local raw and waste materials.
1.      Local Suppliers such as PETRONAS who supply plastic materials and additives from local or abroad.
2.      Green Ecopolymer will be the manufacturer
3.      Distributors will be agents and suppliers for each supermarket big or small.
 Flow of Business Model
1.     Business Model
Firstly, funding will be done through grants to commercialize University products. Market survey will be done before embarking projects and purchasing equipments.  Location and premises will be targeted at Klang Valley for easy accessibility and easy transportation.
2.       Regulatory Compliance:-

a.      IP will be bought over with consultants from University which had been earmarked for commercialization
b.      Incentive for researchers and staff/employees training will be provided
c.       Monopolies to be held only for certain government sectors
d.      Standardization of each products would use Malaysian Standard for both private and public markets together with ECO labeling to further market green products for the future
